Ken Qian Ming Zheng is a graduate of the China Film College in the mid-80s. He started his music career as the principal violist of the Pearl River Film Philharmonic Orchestra and performed in concerts and soundtrack recordings. From November 1983 to October 1985, he became the music editor for Guangdong TV station, responsible for editing and composing scores for numerous TV programs as well as Chinese language dubbing for foreign films. At the same time, he collaborated with many famous Chinese musicians in composing and conducting for many musical documentary films, movies and CDs. In 1986, Ken was hired as the chief recording engineer and composer for the “White Swan Recording Arts Company”. He has arranged and conducted over a thousand musical albums including award-winning productions. He also held the post of music editor, composer and conductor for renowned Chinese music recording companies. In late 1989, he participated in an advanced study trip to Anthony Recording Art College in San Francisco, California USA.
In the past 20 years, he has created endless scores and arrangements. These include breathtaking orchestral, ensemble, and popular works. He has also edited 12 series of scales and orchestral excerpts for string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass). Such series have become widely used by students taking part in the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. And he is creating more excellent musical works for training the new generation of young musicians.
